[OSX] Running with PyLOTRO and no Sound

I've managed to get LOTRO running quite nicely under OSX, however I am yet to get any sound working. I've tried other games with Crossover (TF2) and can get sound working just fine and dandy. I've fiddled with the sound options in winecfg, but changing those setting doesn't make a difference.

When I quite LOTRO I receive the error message "OPENA32DLL - Still didn't find exact match, picking first" in the PyLOTRO event log.

I'm running this on a late 2008 Macbook.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I hope I remember this correctly; it's been a while. Running LOTRO in a Windows XP bottle will not have any sound. That's why we suggest running in a Windows 2000 bottle. The sound from movie cut scenes still doesn't work but the game sounds will.

I don't know what this will show but on the Linux version of CXG if you select the configuration menu option and the select the manage bottle tab, select your bottle and hit configure. You should see a window with a few tabs along the top, select control panel and see if winecfg is listed as an option. If so click on the icon and when the window opens click the audio tab.

I have no idea what options you might have under there but if there is more than try each one in turn to see if that plays the audio on the cut-scenes. It's a shot in the dark but I know from a Linux point of view if OSS is selected you get no sound on the movies but if ALSA is selected you do, OS X might have an equivalent to those options.

That worked just fine, runs nicely. Cheers.

Hmm... I thought this was running okay, but now it regularly crashes while loading. I will always get to the character screen, but when I select a character it just crashes back to the PyLOTRO event log with no error message.

Anyone else encountered this?
