Lotro & PCLinuxOS 2010 a test request!

Further to my replies here: Forum Post
Is there anyone with a current install of PCLinuxOS 2010 KDE version, with the latest updates successfully running LOTRO?
The reason I ask is because it WAS working and then it stopped. I think I did some updates for the OS before it stopped working but I can't be sure. I've reinstalled crossover, crossover games and vanilla wine as well as several re-installs of LOTRO and it still no longer works. As LOTRO is still working on my Ubuntu 10.04 64bit box I can only assume something in PCLinuxOS broke it :D
So I need someone else with a fully updated install of this distro to give it a try as a test.

as posted on the other thread I made, I have fixed it..for me at least.
reposting here for anyone else that may have an issue.

Okay, I fixed it. For anyone else trying to get LOTRO to work and finding that pylotro exits without properly loading the game or even creating configs I will post my fix here.

In my case the issue was actually Pulseaudio. I am guessing PCLinuxOS has a different version to Ubuntu. On a whim I temporarily halted Pulseaudio and LOTRO magically sprung to life! That would explain why it worked before as PCLinuxOS doesn't have pulseaudio enabled by default :D

Anyway to get it working with pulse I followed some old instructions on the web. In a nutshell run:
padsp sh -c '"/opt/cxgames/bin/cxsetup"' changing the path to cxgames if installed elsewhere (local install?)
Then in the audio tab sellect the OSS driver only.
Then run pylotro like this:
padsp pylotro

Lotro should then work fine. Well fine except for no music in the starting titles but the ingame sound works fine :)
If you are not using the native pylotro I would guess add padsp to the command shortcut for the menu/desktop icon.
Hope this helps.
