Apologies for being vague. Too much work and not enough sleep ...
- What version of CrossOver Games are you running?
Trial download
2- What kind of Mac?
Mac Desktop G4 (purchased June 09 - not sure version number), 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 8 GB 1066 MHz DDR3
3- What version of OSX?
Mac OS X (10.6.8)
4- Are you using the CrossTie installer, or trying to "do it yourself."
Using CrossTie Installer, but see comments below.
5- What CD installer?
I can see how you thought I said this, but if you look closely I said "CO" as in CrossOver. My apologies for the misunderstanding.
I suspect the problem lies in a mistake I made upon my first install. I tried to do it via a downloaded installer I had from before (about a year ago). Once I realized I should be using CrossTie, I tried via that method. By that time, I had already done the damage most likely.
I attempted to do a complete uninstall of all CrossOver software and start over, but did not have the same results as were detailed in the thread below mine.
I am thinking, I need to get an actual clean start and it will work. So far I have been unable to get it to go beyond the "FINISH" button on the LOTRO installer (from within CrossTie). What happens is when I click "FINISH" after unchecking the two boxes for README and START the actual CrossOver installer just spins and spins - doesn't actually lock up though.
I have let it run for about 7 hours or so without the progress bar moving (seems to hang at roughly 90%).
I understand hitting "CANCEL" is not good, but that seems the only thing I can do.
I understand this is not supported software and would even be willing to pay a consultant to help me via remote log in / phone call. LoTRO is the only game I enjoy playing upon occasion and I am serious about leaving BootCamp behind as soon as possible:).
Thoughts?
