I am currently installing the English Version (USA Flag) on Lord of
the Rings. I tried to install the UK version when choosing the
Bottles but the Install failed several times.
I migrated across to Turbine a couple of months ago.
Am I doing the right thing by installing the USA version even though
I was/am an EU player?
I'm not the best qualified to answer this as I am not a EU player (and there are others who routinely answer questions who are)...
It is my understanding that as far as Turbine Servers are concerned, the only difference in the clients NOW is language...
The English (UK) client might say "zebra crossing" while the English (USA) version might say "crosswalk" (thank you Douglas Adams)... but other than that, I am unaware of any reason to install a different UK client... and I'm not even positive if the current Turbine dowlnoad offers a different client, or simply "language" selection.
From things which I see (in the code, more or less) there appears to be only one client which has knowledge of the language you wish to use... and you can change that selection any time... without having to download a new client.
This IS different from earlier when ?Codemasters? ran the EU servers. How integrated the English/French/German servers are, I do not know. But I do get the impression that Turbine has made efforts to consolidate as much as possible.
