Mouse problems

Hi All,

Had a good look through the forum but dont think anyone else has had exactly the same issue.

I've sucessfully installed the game but using the mouse to control the view of the world its going nuts, even with turning the sensitivity way down as suggested on another thread it is unsusable?

Can anyone make any suggestions please? I'm on imac27 4core with everything patched up etc. I'm running crossover for games version 10.1 (10.1.0)

Interestingly I had a similar problem when I tried installing on Vmware and Parallels.

Thanks
Jamie

Interestingly I had a similar problem when I tried installing on
Vmware and Parallels.

First, I also have a 4core-i7 27 inch iMac iMac11,3 - ATI Radeon HD 5750.
I use Kensington's trackball, and "Trackball works."
That said, I don't see your problem.

First question is ... how did you install CXG -- did you use the CrossTie installer?

What mouse are you using... Wireless or USB? (I can't tolerate the Wireless mouse personally. I find it simply too erratic for my personality.)
Does changing the settings in the Control Panel of OSX make any difference?

Im just using an ordinary wired mouse, ive got a logitech and a Microsoft mouse. Dosent seem to make a different.

I used the Tie to install.

Messing around with the osx mouse settings seems to make no difference, bummer !!

Try editing the UserPreferences.ini

ConfineFullScreenMouseCursor=False

helped for me.

Is your system an "upgrade" or a "virgin" install?

I have seen many unexplained problem situations magically disappear as a result of a "disk wipe" and complete OS reinstall.
(not just with CXG but with other applications as well.)

That you have encountered similar issues with other software implies that you have some low-level file corruption.

Another thread had a person with repeated crashing problems -- he created a new boot disk with Snow Leopard and install CXG and LOTRO on it... and all his problems went away.

I had a similar situation with my PowerBook. I had no problem with my iMac, which was a virgin install of Snow Leopard, but my PowerBook, which had been upgraded since Tiger ultimately to Snow Leopard, simply would not run CXG/LOTRO.

I finally wiped the disk and re-installed Snow Leopard, and haven't had a problem since then.

It's not a pretty thing to do, but frequently it's the only solution.
