Confirmed working, CX 3.0.0, MDK 10.1 CE

Ok, I am writing to confirm that this program WORKS. It is either at a BRONZE level or SILVER level. I have applied to be an advocate but will have to wait for Codeweavers to approve it I guess... For the two who have already signed up, please do update the status to reflect the rating correctly!

NOTE: I have Ebible from Thomas Nelson, which uses Libronix. So, yes, Ebible for Windows also works, as it runs on the same platform (Libronix).

Anyway, for those needing this right now, let me give a few heads up...

  1. I installed IE 6.0 prior to installing Ebible. IE 5 is a minimum requirement for Libronix. So, do this first. It will also install DCOM95.

  2. Install Libronix/LOGOS/Ebible. It will end correctly, but you have to click on the "Installation Completed" and say yes.

  3. The desktop icon will say something like:
    "/home/celestial/cxoffice/bin/wine" --workdir "C://Program Files//Libronix DLS//System//" --check --cx-app "C://WINDOWS//SYSTEM//start.exe" -- C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Libronix Digital Library System.lnk

(celestial is my username for this example).

I had to change it to read as follows before it worked:
"/home/celestial/cxoffice/bin/wine" --workdir "C://Program Files//Libronix DLS//System//" LDLS.exe

(Putting quote marks for the last part might have worked too... To change it, right click and look for properties, and hunt around... depends on KDE or GNOME or whatever you use.)

  1. Run it! Enjoy! Activation works, copying resources to hard disk works.

Hopefully I'll be approved as an advocate. Will update more in the future. Now to clear up my vmware partition which I don't need. (30 day trials... grrr...)

  1. If you are copying resources from multiple CDs, be careful. You should copy the resources on one CD to the hard disk, and then quit the program. The program might lock up, and you will need to use "Reset Crossover Office". Unmount/eject the CD, insert the new CD and then run Libronix again to copy the next CD. Ejecting the CD while libronix is running caused an error, and WINE froze up. Later, my whole Linux system froze up. Hmm... (or maybe just the keyboard/mouse locked up...).

  2. Pop-up notes appear black, as has been mentioned. Confirming that as well. I am unable to find a preference in Libronix that might correct that. Not sure why this is the case. Hopefully Codeweavers will do something quick and easy to fix this, and get the money being pledged for this, since the program almost works already!

  3. Preferences still pop-up an error box, but the program continues to work fine.

I vouch for a Bronze on this program...
