Crossover XI

I was able to get Libronix (I think it is version 2.x) to work with Crossover XI, installing it the way it was mentioned in other threads on here:

win98 bottle
Install Internet Explorer 6 first
Run the installer from the "Run Command" button in the Bottle tab in the "Manage Bottles" program. For whatever reason it wouldn't install right through the normal installation mechanism.

There are some crashes and weird glitches (like an ampersand appearing before a letter that is supposed to be underlined in the menus). Other than that, I can read the books I bought, which was the big thing. I had it working with a much older version of Crossover, but Libronix wouldn't load all the way if I used the old bottle. Installing into a new one took care of it.

Can you see the menus or are the menu shadows covering them? This used to happen in previous versions. If you can see the menus, this would be an improvement over the previous releases of CX.

By the way, if Libronix 2.x works, you will probably find that 3.x works as well. Logos 4 (which uses a significantly different rendering engine - webkit instead of IE) will see very different results.

I can see the menus. As I said, the only "problem" with the menus is that instead of saying "File" with the F underlined, it appears as "&File". I'll try 3.x.

Does 4.0 work at all?

I couldn't get the downloadable version of 3.0 to work, either with an upgrade or with a fresh install. Is there some trick?

Logos 4 appears to install. Even the shortcut icon is generated, but it will not run yet. I am still working on getting it to work. If you are interested in advocating for Logos 4, it is listed under a separate application: https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=6986.

I haven't tested logos 3.x in a couple of years, but the last time I tested it was probably with version 8.x of CXOFFICE. Back then, it installed and ran, but as I mentioned above the menu shadows actually appeared on top of the menu, thus covering the options. What you are seeing now is an improvement. I will grab an old CD and try 3.x again to see what luck I have with CX-XI.
