Microsoft makes no exeptions to their pricing and licensing schemes when it comes to non-profit organizations, not even churches. There are a lot of parishes that can't scrape up the money for a new computer, or even a copy of windows to run on an old computer. With that said, this Logos Accounting program is a resource hog, so they can't skimp on the hardware either. The Archdiocese of New York mandated that all parishes in their area MUST use LOGOS accounting to track their finances or else lose support of the Archdiocese. (Never mind that the program is buggy, badly written, and poorly designed from a gui usability point of view.)
If LOGOS can run from Crossover Office, then that's 300 bucks they don't have to spend on Windows (per machine, of course...). That becomes money they can spend on other things, like clothes and food for the needy.
