Lineage II Forum

When I Run Lineage II with Cross over GAMES 7.1.1 I get these error:

Unable to open Oreans.vxd
Error dialog with following message:

Cannot open oreans.vxd driver. Make sure that oreans.vxd is not open by another program.

I got this error too with Crossover Games 7.1.1. The installation and patching were okay. After clicking the Start button, such error is displayed.

I looked around a bit. It's some kind of copy protections scheme.
That's something with what Wine has serious problems with.
The only thing that worked for me was using "unprotected" binaries so far.

Which I clearly don't promote at all, but who knows.
But I really don't understand why there needs to be some C/P at all with a MMORPG...

Any chance to get an update to play L2 ?

I bought codeweavers, but I can't play on my game ( Lineage 2 and Left 4 dead) damn.

Oreans.vxd is the GameGuard rootkit driver. It is known not to work on CrossOver and probably never will, because we cannot load Windows rootkits into the Mac kernel. So the game will not work unless it stops using GameGuard, or GameGuard stops using rootkit techniques.
