Lineage II Forum

Lineage II installs fine and updates itself. However, it fails to start.
It shows a dialog "The game may not be consistent because AGP is deactivated. Please, activate AGP for consistancy.".
After clic in "OK" buttom, a new msg appears:
OS: Windows 2000 5.0 (Build: 2195)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 1995 MHz with 1024MB RAM
Video: Direct3D HAL (1281)

General protection fault!

iMac Alluminium Core 2 DUO 1 Gb RAM. Leopard 10.5.2 and CrossOver 6.2.1
Can be AGP activated in some way? SOme ideas? thanks!

Lineage 2 uses GameGuard as far as I know. This anti-cheat system installs a kernel driver with rootkit functionality which does not work on CrossOver.

I doubt that this causes the AGP warning, but I think the General protection fault is triggered due to that.

the strange think is, that it works perfectly under VMware Fusion running XP in window or fullscreen mode.
So basicly it brings the same msg, then runs fine.

well i want to.
i installed it but see that L2 not seems to run.
there are many googled forum posts where they replace core.dll and engine.dll but i wont do that at all because its a reason to ban you (modify client) if NCsoft didnt allow that (the replacements removes GG; kinda most senseless program that exists but still prevent it to run on crossover it seems).
so i use bootcamp native xp and vmware fusion if i need quick login, but i love to play it on mac, hate this reboot crap.
