Pixel Shader 3.0

I tried to run the Limbo demo from Steam, using Crossover Games 10.2.0, on Mac OS X 10.7.2, on a Mac Mini from mid 2011 (Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB ) but I get the following message:

"Video card is below minimum system requirement. You need a video card with at least Shader Model 3.0".

I have checked Wine Config, and Pixel shader is enabled. I have tried creating a 1024x768 virtual desktop, but the error persists.

If anybody have any suggestion to troubleshoot this, it will be welcome.

Thanks,

Hi,

...you could try....

Mine said this, too. The following fixed it:
1) winetricks d3dx9
2) Go into winecfg, Libraries, change d3dx9_43 to "builtin"

citing: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=24128&iTestingId=65722 ('vertex shader error')

....you don't need the first step, just step 2)...

Cheers!

ps: I don't have this title - just passing on clues ; if it still doesn't
work, then it may be wine version related (cxg is currently built upon
wine-1.3.9) ....

Thanks!

I've tried it, but it didn't help.

I have also run the game with +loaddll to check if other native d3d dlls were being loaded, and I have changed 3dcompiler_43.dll and d3dx9_36.dll to builtin, to see if it helped, but it didn't. Maybe I should try with a newer Wine version, or try it on Linux instead. Probably I will just forget it and play something else. Thanks anyway. 😊

...hmm...you know, I wonder if that advice is correct from winehq - I
just installed the demo via Steam and it ran as is out of the box. When
I get around to kicking the imac back into osx, I'll see if that same
result is evident....

Update:

...same result on the 11,2 iMac w/ HD5670 video, MacOS 10.7.2 ...
worked straight up via Steam w/ CXG 10.2.0 (albeit with the annoying
22pixel top mac menu bar showing in fullscreen), but otherwise there
was aught to do....works fine...

edit: my guess would be the inane intel HD 3000 gpu you have =)
