Incomplete Installation of Left 4 Dead 2 (55)

I just bought Left 4 Dead 2 today. I am running CxG 9.0 b4 (I know I'm not using supported software, but I have a hunch that this problem doesn't have to do with the beta). After opening the game, it says "Incomplete Installation of Left 4 Dead 2 (55)" and doesn't let me open it. I looked on the Steam site and tried installing Steamservive.exe through the run command, but I got an error (I can tell you guys the specific error if you want it).

So, does anybody know any ways around this? Help would be highly appreciated.

OS: Mac OS 10.5.8 (Leopard)
CxG: 9.0 b4 (community supported)
Steam: Latest
