L4D2 Crashes with the New Steam UI

Just a heads up to anyone interested: (Specially the CodeWeavers Staff)
I tried to play L4D2 in the new Steam UI, using, of course, the 9.0 Beta.
After skipping the Valve/Intro video, the game crashes, just like that.
No warinings, no flashes, no strange windows: It plain crashes.

Just to let you know.
I'm sure you are working hard on the new version, so, good luck!

I have the same problem here with 9.0 beta 4. I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8 (Leopard).

This sounds like Ticket 796730 that I submitted. You can view it to see what they've suggested which so far hasn't worked for me. They also referenced a new beta coming Friday that hasn't come out yet. I'm hoping the new beta is able to fix it.

I'd been having trouble getting L4D2 to work under 8.1.4. When I upgraded to 9.0.0b4, it started doing what you describe ... but suddenly Half-Life 2 started doing it too. I opened a ticket as well. I saw on another ticket that there might be an upgrade on the 9 beta that will fix this problem.

Unfortunately after telling everyone there was going to be a new beta, it appears the beta was only offered to certain users. Someone posted the link http://www.codeweavers.com/beta/crossover/download/ in another forum saying they were already on beta7. That link gives me an access denied error.

Hi,

See my reply to your posting in 'unsupported builds' in this regard.

Cheers!

So where do you get access to build7?
