Can't get League of Legends to install.

I'm aware that League of Legends is not currently supported in Crossover, however I decided to try it anyway. I do not get even as far as the launcher--the installer, where you accept the EULA, is solid white and the only displayed icons are the Exit and Minimize buttons. I tried to install some dependencies, including DirectX Runtime - Modern, Visual C++ 2005 Runtime, and Crossover HTML Engine (IE8.0). These dependencies do not seem to alleviate the issue.

It appears that support for LoL may not happen until Crossover uses the Wine 1.3.x base, but we'll see what happens!

Hi there Nathan..
I got it working perfectly on my iMac 20" by downloading from this link...

Hi,

Please refrain from off topic posting, which is what this is.
Crossover runs on both OSX and linux, and there will always be
Mac-centric threads and linux-centric threads ; all you're doing
is disrupting an otherwise 'good' thread.

If you have problems, in linux, with this title, either search
for a linux specific thread to ask your questions, or, start a
new thread that expounds your problem.

Cheers!

Hi Zilas, I'm not sure if you still frequent this forum, but it looks as if Riot has removed the download for the beta client from the forum post you linked and the website.

It seems like they may have moved away from the unsupported APIs used in their launcher, but the catch is that you have to use the old launcher to update to the new one. It seems the only route to get LoL running at this time is either hoping and waiting for an updated client/launcher that doesn't use the unsupported APIs, or attempting to compile WINE from source with the appropriate patches, which is something I haven't managed to get working.

I have downloaded the official client from the League of Legends website. As of right now it appears to be installing. At this very moment it is currently downloading the game, through the launcher I downloaded. I will get back to you all with a status update when I have one.

Update: The installer completes but for one reason or another CrossOver assumes the installer is still running and does not complete the steps it performs after finishing with an installer. Because of his, the game launcher never runs.

You can manually tell Crossover that something finished installing.

Open the drop down (detail I think) and there should be a 'cancel' button next to the process that crossover thinks is still running. Just hit cancel on that process (not the whole install) and it should finish doing the bottle configuration.
