Disappears on Dock

I've installed it, with the installer running fine. I had previously installed .NET 2.0, C++ 2008 and DirectX Modern into the same bottle. However when I try to run it, the icon appears bouncing on the dock for a couple of seconds before disappearing. This same issue has occurred when I tried to install Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam. Any tips?
