Killing floor not working at all.

Nothing but random mouse errors, crashes, error messages ext.

I'm running Linux Mint 9 on a Quad-core 9750 with 12 GB 800Mhz Ram with a nVidia 8800 GTS.
I set my resolution to 1024x768 like he tips said to. I set it to Direct3D.

Game opens, gives mouse errors (mouse flies around sometimes and won't budge from the middle of the screen others) then gives a error message and crashes.

I bought Crossover Games just to play this game because it had a silver medal, and I'm very disappointed. =(

What does the error message say? Are you using Crossover Games 9?

Hi,

Sorry about your disappointment there, but I may be able to give you
some light here. First up, this title was ranked Silver when being used
with CXG-8.1.4 -not- CXG-9.0 :: I don't have this title personally, and
nobody has..as yet...has reported it as working (or not) in CXG-9.0 (and
at what medal ranking). One might say, you're using the wrong version of
CXG to possibly attain silver medal performance? This isn't so bad though,
...unless you're using the Steam release of this title, then it's a small
sort of headache....

...if you're not using the Steam version, as a customer you can still
get the older 8.1.4 release. Login to your codeweavers account and go to
My Downloads -> Archived Downloads ; you should see there all the previous
versions you can download....

....the above will not work if you are using the Steam release of this
title, because CXG-8.1.4 does not support the newer Steam GUI client, and
this is a catch22 that's frustrated some of my testing of my steamapps as
it's near on impossible to run any sort of regression test - I blame Steam 8)

...the more important point here though, is when you mention "mouse flies
around sometimes and won't budge from the middle of the screen others", that
is an obscure issue (doesn't affect all apps) with the CXG-9.0 release that
I've already hoisted a ticket on and the codeweavers devs/Ninjas are full aware
of it -- I'll add your voice to that ticket to help increase it's critical mass.
I suspect...as is typically the case with new releases of software...that there
will be a so called 'bugfix' release for CXG-9.0 (as exampled with CXO 9.0 / 9.0.1)
forthcoming 'sometime soon' ...I don't know when, but even I myself am hoping
a fix for the mousing business will make it into the build...(I have a few games
afflicted by this glitche)..

... so it's not all gloom and doom - there is light at the end of the tunnel.
If you're using some desktop shizzle like compiz or such, I would try disabling
that on the off chance....also, for he sake of my own ticket on this, it may
be significant to know whether or not you're running the Steam release of this
title..would you be able to tell me please?

Hope this helps...

Cheers!
