I have tested KaleidaGraph with the past few versions of Wine and Crossover to no avail. Finally, with version Crossover version 4.2, this application installs and actually runs. I have been able to plot large data sets, which will not even open in Microsoft Excel nor Open Office's Calc due to thier size.
With Crossover 5.0, Kaleidagraph 3.6 works. The application runs fine. It even runs from a shared SMB network drive - something that was non-trivial on our MS boxes. I personally am running Opensuse 10.0, but I will test this on other distributions soon.
There is a small cosmetic issue with the screen refresh. You have to click on a title bar once in a while to get the contents to redraw. This has improved since 4.2, but it is still not perfect.
