JRE 7 via WINE on Mac - anyone have any luck?

I got excited when I saw the Silver medallion, but looks like Gavin's latest comments here on the Codeweavers Java 7 page are that Virtual Machines won't run.

I'm in this horrible scenario of having to run a poorly coded Java chat application which doesn't run properly on anything other than Windows. Wondering if anyone has successfully gotten a Java 7 JRE for Windows up and running under WINE on OS X?

At the moment I'm running an entire copy of Windows just to use this one application, and I have to have it open for the entire work day.

Thank you!

I haven't recently tested Java 7 on my machine, but the last time I did it wouldn't create any virtual machines. Without those, Java 7 is basically useless. You can download the offline versions of the JRE and install them manually in CrossOver and try it yourself, but I haven't had any luck. I would like to run Minecraft in CrossOver, but I haven't found a way yet. That's pretty much a fool-proof way of knowing if Java works or not.
