This is Fedora Core 4. I just upgraded to CXOffice 5 and then installed iTunes 4.9. This is the first time I've installed iTunes, so there are no old installations hanging around. I previously had CXOffice 4.1 or 4.0 installed. I forget which. The installation was flawless. It created a new "bottle" for iTunes, so I imagine that means the older stuff I had installed under older versions of CXOffice won't interfere?
When I run iTunes, it starts up fine, loads, connects to the store, but the interface is mostly dead. It's as if the mouse does not work. In some places, I can use the keyboard to scroll up and down. I can use the keyboard to exit (whew!) by pressing ALT-F and then X to exit. If I use the mouse on the menus, the menu opens and immediately closes.
Basically, the user interface looks perfect, looks like I should be able to use it, but nothing works. There is a scroll bar on the right, but the mouse fails to have any affect. If I click on a CD cover image to get a song (the mouse cursor changes to a hand), when I click, nothing happens.
