Quicktime Install and Itunes Install

I just downloaded the latest version and decided to get Itunes working on my debian unstable (running a self-compiled 2.6.7 kernel). I tried about 3 times to install it after I had installed Quicktime and I could not get past the beginning points of the install with the installshield getting setup or whatever. In fact, there was not even a logfile generated. Then I went back and removed quicktime and did a itunes install first and it worked and it installed Quicktime as it was going. I have a lot of instability in itunes at this point. It will crash trying to import a playlist that I saved in XMMS but it will read all my mp3s without a problem. Making playlists is rather time consuming without being able to drag and drop selections back and forth.
