iPod/Firewire
Anonymous

I have an old iPod without USB. I can mount it without problems over Firewire and it works great with gnupod, too. Will iTunes/CrossOver Office detect my iPod, if it is mounted at /mnt/ipod, even if it's not mounted via USB? If it won't, would it be possible to add this in a future version of CrossOver Office?

We don't support firewire at the moment. Apparantly, iTunes accesses iPods through USB and Firewire in completely different ways. We are considering adding firewire support, if we can find a decent library that will allow us to abstract away kernel differences (e.g. allowing it to work on linux 2.4.XX, 2.6.9, and a future 2.6.30).

What a pity. Please add support for Firewire. 😊

And another question: When will Firewire be implemented earlier? If I buy CrossOver Office Pro now and ask for Firewire support using my "Level 2" support, or if I tell you that I won't buy it until it gets Firewire support?
