iTunes 4.0 Forum

For the last few days i've been unable to buy music from iTunes, I can browse the store and look for songs, but when I click 'buy song', I just get an error telling me 'iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again'. Has anybody else had this problem ? I've not done anything to my crossover installation at all since it was last working so can't understand why it now seems to be broken.

Am running Mandriva 2005LE (aka Mandrake 10.2) with all current updates installed.

I have this problem too. I'm running FC4 with all current updates.

I thought perhaps Apple had disabled log-in from iTunes 4.7 in favour of 4.9 so I installed 4.9

It installed OK but refused to launch; who knows if it would have made any difference anyway.

I'm back to 4.7 and still can not log in.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

I'm getting a slightly different problem, I use the shopping basket rather than the buy now. I've got some stuff in it now, but every time I try to go to the basket to try and make the final purchase, iTunes crashes (with no errors). I suspect that one of the items in my basket is causing this, but I can't get at it to clear them out and start again. Is there any way of persuading iTunes to clear my basket without actually clicking on it ?
