Almost runs

This app comes as a simple .exe on the CDROM containing the medical images. When I run the installer it fails after being unable to find dcom95.exe

When I run the application, a large screen flashes very briefly but then disappears without a trace that I can find.

Any thoughts on how to coax it a bit farther? Sure would be nice to see my MRI.

When you say > When I run the installer it fails after being unable to find

dcom95.exe
do you mean that CrossOver searches for DCOM95, fails to find it, and then refuses to run the installer? If so, that would be a bug of ours, but I suspect you actually mean that the iSiteMediaViewer installer is looking for DCOM95.

CrossOver knows how to install DCOM98, including downloading it for you from the net. DCOM98 is a superset of DCOM95, so it should meet the needs of the app. You could try that. Of course, it may be that iSiteMediaViewer would still not work, even after that.

I would also like to run the software on my mac. I will watch this thread with interest to see if you
ve gotten it to install.

This might be too late or maybe you have found a work around, but I was able to use the iSiteMediaViewer (should work with the .exe program for running your CDR) with a little bit of a work around.

  1. Load your CDR but do not activate a bottle or create a bottle.
  2. Open your Crossover program and create a bottle with Win98 and DCOM98. Use default settings for Wine Configuration, but you can play around by adding different graphic programs for better viewing results.
  3. From the control panel under Manage Bottles, open the Task Manager. You should see the Wine System Tray in the Applications tab of Task Manager.
  4. With your CD loaded, click on New Task bottom left corner of Task Manager Applications window. Hit the browse and navigate to you CD in the windows pop up.
  5. Click on the CDR to open the contents and then click on your simple.exe (in my case iSiteMediaViewer) program and now hit the open button.
  6. You should now see the Create A New Task Button with your simple.exe file path. Click OK
  7. Wait a couple of seconds and your CDR contents should open. From there follow the program steps to open your images. It takes a little while for the images to appear.

Maybe too late or maybe you have come up with a better solution by now, but hope this helps if not.

I have tried to transfer the images to my OsiriX without any luck. So far the best I have been able to do is save the images with a jpg extension and then create a QuickTime Movie to load into OsiriX. Anyone have any luck with migrating images as a series to OsiriX?

This worked!! Thanks! I tried the trial version of crossover just for this software (the isitemediaview), and following the directions above, I had it up and was viewing my MRI images in 3 minutes! Thanks, MMurray
