IAM3 runs well under CrossOver, but there are minor issues and differences from running it under Windows. This thread aims to identify those differences and track any progress in resolving them. (When/if resolved, the application rating could move from 4 to 5 stars!)
I haven't yet observed any operational difference in the way IAM3 itself runs or the numerical results displayed in the tabs, dialogs or reports. I'm running IAM3 in CrossOver 19.0.1 under Fedora 30 Linux, if things are different on a Mac or other Linuxes, it would be useful to know.
I have noticed the following:
-
The font under CrossOver is thinner, less smooth and generally less crisp and pleasing than the font under Windows 10.
-
The pie charts (such as on the Portfolio Summary tab) lack the legend under CrossOver. Under Windows the legend shows the stock name which corresponds to each color.
-
The Help facility, which apparently relies upon the standard Windows help browser, has the following drawbacks under CrossOver:
(a) When invoking contextual help using the '?' button within the application, the help browser always opens to the Welcome article (as when invoked from the Help -> Contents menu item). Under Windows the opened help page is specific to the part of the program the help was invoked from.
(b) When navigating between help pages, the Contents tab does not track the change in location. Under Windows the Contents tab always opens to the section containing the current help article and highlights the article title.
(c) The keyword search box is not available on the Index tab, unlike under Windows.
(d) The number of results brought up by searching on the Search tab is generally far fewer than under Windows.
Please post to this thread if you notice issues not listed here.
