Interstate 76 now on GOG.com

Interstate 76 is now on GOG.com. The version of i76 on there works on Wine as long as you have Windows 98 mode selected for the i76.exe file. Its runs flawlessy for the most part. The menus don't display flawlessy, however, once you select something on them the menu bar turns black and covers the current menu selection. Other than that, I'd say that the rating should be around Silver for this version, the version has not been submitted to the Wine App Database yet, but the cd version has. It's the same version as the cd, its just a digital download version instead of a cd version. In Crossover Games i76 does not work even with the compatibility mode on. I will display the exact error message in a future forum post.

I don't know how you got the i76 from GOG to run in win98 mode; it needs the Visual C++ 2008 runtime. GOG does not just release the last version on CD, they actually do some bugfixing and make it run cleanly on newer Windows versions.

It doesn't work for me in Wine 1.1.40 at all, not in Win98 nor WinXP mode.

I installed the Visual C++ 2008 Runtime with winetricks. After that, I used Windows 98 mode, and the game ran almost flawlessly. However, that was on Slackware-Current, I have not been successful in doing that in Arch Linux. It installs, but when I try to run it, it says "Please insert Interstate 76 Disc 2." I have not been able to figure out how to get rid of that and make the game run. I will make a future post here if I can get it running.

Firstly, what a kick ass game, cant wait to play it again.I downloaded 3 versions, only ripversion is theone that works and its in RUSSIAN - NO GO!!! have thesameproblem with the "insert Disc 2" searched the whole web for a crack but seems to be non-existant. whati've heardis that you should change your virtual drive letter to D:\,but i can't cause i got 2 HDD and a DVD drive (C:\;D:\;E:\;virtual is F:)

A post I found.......
You must make sure that the drive you have used to mount the image has the lowest letter in the alphabet (closest to c) of all your cd-roms. Eg. if you have a drive D: cd-burner and E: F: G: virtual drives, and you mount to E:, I76 will not run. You can either change the drive letters or burn the image to a CD and put it in the appropriate drive.
To change the drive letters, go to
(classic view control panel)
Control panel>administrative tools>computer management>disk management.
From there you can swap drive letters, so first swap the one with the lowest letter to something else, then the virtual drive to the lowest.
