IE7 clean installation fails: File is corrupt

I just tried to install Internet Explorer 7 using 'configure > install software > Internet Explorer 7'.
Unfortunately the installation fails on extracting 'update\xmllitesetup.exe' with the error that the 'File is corrupt'.
The error occurs after the XML parser setup window has finished and is closed.

I have tried to reinstall, and also removed the Bottle and clean installed again, but it keeps failing.

Suggestions are more then welcome!

Anything that CrossOver automatically downloads gets cached. If the cached file is corrupt, then it will remain so on every attempt to install it after that, unless you delete the cache. CrossOver keeps its cache at:

~/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/installers (on the Mac)
~/.cxoffice/installers (on Linux)

You can delete the individual file from in there, or just delete everything if you don't mind future downloads from scratch.

Seeing exact same problem here with Crossover 9.1 on Mac. Have cleared the cached installer files and tried more than once. Anyone else gotten this to work recently?

I had the problem of IE 7 install failing as well today. Was at the Apple store and the "Genius Guy" was kind enough to delete and re-install it. Unfortuanately it does not work and the sites will not open. Can someone advise me as to the proper way to uninstall all Crossover files from all areas and libraries?

Thank you.

Hey is there a "spellcheck" on this forum?

For uninstall instructions, see this article in our support library: http://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/CXOfficeMacRemoval

Typically, spell checking is a feature of the web browser, not the website.

I seem to have trouble with IE7 all the time, something about the download being timed out...

Once you have the issue, you need to get rid of the installer that failed to download correctly. So first delete the bottle (manage bottles, remove bottle) then you need to go to your .cxoffice/Installers folder or the Library/App support/Crossover/installers folder depending on which system you have and find the IE7 installer (or whichever is giving you trouble) and delete it. Then try installing again. Sometimes it can take a few times but once you have a valid installer downloaded you don't have to go through the process again.
I don't recommend erasing all the installers, because I've gotten more time-outs that way. If it only has one file to download it tends to do a quicker job.
