Internet Explorer 7 Forum

I installed IE7, but couldn't "uncheck" virus protection or updates while installing as the program suggests, so it did various virus checks during the installation process plus updates at the end. I think this is why I cannot run IE7 properly. It DID install, but after a few minutes it stops working and I get an error message: "The program iexplore.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close... This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/ for tips about running this application." How can I do a clean re-install and most importantly: how do I uncheck those 2 options? Thanks!

(I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid, and an evaluation version of your software).

That's plenty strange....I've just installed IE7 here a number of times and
it all seems to work just fine --- can you tell us exactly why you can't uncheck
those options?...ie; how the situation manifests itself...here, it's a simple
point'n'click operation as one would expect. You might also mention your linux
machine specs (videocard & videocard drivers etc) just in case there's a clue
there...
