Internet Explorer 7 Forum

IE7 opens but crashes immediately once I try to open a website, any website. I run it on Ubuntu 10.04. Any suggestions?

Which version of CO? Did you use a new bottle? Which kind of bottle?

CrossOver Linux Standard 9.0.0

I did use a new bottle. It installs only on WinXP by default and refuses to install on previous versions. So, I had to use a WinXP bottle.

Are you using amd64 or x86 architecture? I did not have any trouble on ubuntu 10.04 amd64. Also retry using a new bottle, again. Sometimes weird things happen. Ummm, I believe they released 9.0.1 for Linux professional, make sure you are using the latest version.

I'm using a regular HP desktop, nothing fancy. I tried installing in new bottles around 10 times now, and always the same problem. My Ubuntu installation is also new and updated. Sounds weired, right?

any suggestions?

OK, let us see if it is one the extra programs that should be installed. Does linux standard install it automatically or manually, I have not used the regular version in a while... List of programs installed with IE7:

Flash 10 ActiveX Control
Hotfix for WinXP (KB915865)
MS International Domain Names Migration APIs
MS National Language Support Downlevel APIs
MS XML Parser 3
MSLS31
TrueType fonts

Are you missing anything from this list? Might want to look on WineHQ site: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=4195

They are all installed, in addition to the following:

• CrossOver HTML engine
• Internet Explorer 7.0

I usually install it manually.
