Hello everyone, the game does not start but the error pop-up says wine is missing or not properly configured, pretty strange error.

This game is using Easy Anti-Cheat, so while the error message is weird, that's ultimately why it won't run.

Yes I was thinking about the anti cheat. Any chance to have a workaround for it in the future?

No, there's no way we can hack around a game's anti-cheat. There are technical reasons, and of course that defeats the whole purpose of anti-cheat, which wouldn't make the game publisher very happy.

It makes sense, sadly this means this title will not work, at least without developer help.

He it seems to work if you start the executable directly from the bottle! Any hope to see fixed by you then??
Bottles/Steam/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/sandstorm/Insurgency/Binaries/Win64/InsurgencyClient-Win64-Shipping.exe

It looks like launching it that way bypasses anticheat, but that also then restricts you from matchmaking, so no, this doesn't really help out :/

You are right Meredith. Local play works great, but online you get kicked for not having anti-cheat. I should try with a personal server.

Im getting a similar message and cannot load the game at all.

Mac mini m2 pro

I am running the trial version... would that have an impact?

Im also using CxPatcher.

Are there specific wine configurations/windows versions I need to be using?

I have metal turned on, using windows 11...
