Imperialism Crosstie failing

This Imperialism Crosstie doesn't seem to work for me. It seems to install, but when I try to run Imperialism.app, the icon only comes up for a couple of seconds, then disappears. This is with the version of the game from GOG. I am running an older version of Crossover - v13.2 - on Snow Leopard (intentionally...I will not be downgrading to any later versions of OS X). Is this happening because my version is too old?
