What is required for Horizon Zero Dawn on Mac

Horizon Zero Dawn requires DirectX 12. Here is Meredith's post about this issue:

Hi there,

It will not work, as it is a DirectX 12 game.... Please see this blog post for more info about our plans for DirectX 12 support.

Best,

PS from me: DirectX 12 may come for Mac as soon as CrossOver 23.

Well, I can report that with version 23 I just get a black screen. So it's still not working yet. Just launches and freezes on a black screen.

Each DX12 game is going to need special attention from the devs in order to get it to work.

It works almost perfectly now. Only issue is a white frame around the game while playing it. I Installed the GOG version and had to install both the latest x86 & x64 visual c++ runtime libraries.

What bottle settings are you using? I tried the Steam version after Crossover 24 came out and still got stuck on a blank screen. I also had the border at the top. I installed it into an existing Steam bottle but I haven't tried a new bottle yet.

I reinstalled Steam + Zero Dawn to a new bottle with no success (M2 Max) - I'm also just getting a black screen.

How do you install the latest x86 & x64 visual c++ runtime libraries? I am using Steam. Thanks. I get a black screen with white boarder and cannot get past it.

To get this to run, I edited the graphicsconfig.ini at C:\users\crossover\documents\horizon zero dawn\Saved Game\profile\graphicsconfig.ini

The line that needs to be changed is "DisplayMode"

Change it from "Fullscreen" to "Borderless"
