The current workaround I am using for Battle.Net/Blizzard games:
1)Have a regular wine or PlayOnLinux wine environment, with just the Battle.Net launcher installed in there.
Have that wine environment set to Windows XP.
You will only use this wine/Battle.Net Launcher for updating your games.
Don't reinstall your Blizzard games, just point your new launcher to the Blizzard games inside your Crossover bottle, so that the Crossover's games get updated.
2) Set your Crossover Blizzard bottle to Windows 7.
Within Crossover, add the HeroesSwitcher.exe and run that.
You can just keep using the Switcher until there's an update to the game, then you will have to update the game via your wine/B.Net Launcher. The Switcher version launches games without updating or checking for updates. So you will need to run the launcher manually after every update.
Note: This workaround applies to all Blizzard games.
my workaround is to use lutris until it runs again in crossover. There is a 64bit version that works out of the box. It crashes sometimes but the crossover version was also crashing sometimes.
