I managed to install Heroes of Might Magic V without any Problems (the DVD was mounted, recognized and installed the game).

But when I try to launch the game, HOMM V can´t find a DVD Drive. When eject the DVD an insert it again, the game still complains, that it´s not finding a DVD Drive. But at the same time, Crossover lunches the DVD, starts the Installer offers to install HOMM V. So obviously, the DVD Drive is regognized by Crossover.

When I drag the autorun.exe onto the Crossover icon, it starts (form the DVD) only to tell me, no DVD Drive is found.

Original versions of Heroes of Might & Magic V included copy protection.
The latest official patch from the UBI (Version 1.6) removed this.

The patches can be found on UBI's servers:

Patch 1.4 is cumulative and includes all prior ones.
Then you need:
1.41
1.5
and finally, 1.6 (higher versions like 2.x and 3.x refer to hammers of fate and tribes of the east respectively)

It is important that you choose the right .exe for your game version (e.g. in my case it was xxx_eu.exe for retail EU version). Hope this helps.

I can confirm that this works.

Download the patches as stated above (1.04, then 1.041, then 1.05, and 1.06). This removes the no disc problem.

Then you have to install Flash to see the menu screens. Under Crossover preferences uncheck "Hide service packs and dependencies." Then go to your bottle and choose "Install Software" and choose flash.

I did everything here even patched it but I get just a blank white screen when I launch the game. I can hear audio and see the white screen. Any suggestions? I also installed flash. Still no dice although at least it launches now.....HOURS of fun staring at a white screen =)
