Blue Shift

Hey Jer,

Have you by chance got Blue Shift to play?
I broke down and got the "Platinum Collection" and ive got everything
to work thus far except Blue Shift.
Do I need to give it a switch say -game bshift ??
or -console or something ? I dont have a windows install at this time
so its kinda hard to find the correct switch ;)

Tom

It should work, but no I havn't tried it. Blue Shift does not install itself as a mod. It installs as a stand alone executable in its own dir. Seems dumb that they did it that way. So to play the game, you'll need to launch from the Blue Shift icon.

I can get most all mod's to work but Blue Shift is a no-go at this time
for me.... hummmm

We should remove the MCI errors in the Known Issues?
the intro movie play's perfect here and i've not recieved the old MCI error
with 4.0

Do you use OpenGL as your graphics driver? If so maybe we should list
this in the Tips & Tricks section "Use OpenGL"

Other than some small drawing glitches Half-Life it's self is almost a gold.
some of the mod's are silver class ATM tho..... I don't know if you want to start listing mod's :) But if you want some screen shots of different mod's let me know.

Oh if you try to play a mod and play isn't highlighted just TAB untill you select play and hit enter and it will start.

If I had some spare time I'd check it out. The only thing I install from the Blue Shift CD is the graphics update, and that works fine.

Yeah, the MCI errors have been fixed for a long time. There still is a small bug, you can't hit ESC to skip the intro movies. Minor, but still nice to know you can skip them by using the -console option.

OpenGL is the only thing that works for me. Software mode just causes it to hang. Strangely, software mode in Steam works fine. Direct3D just brings an error: Unknown 3D mode, or something. Did I mention that Half-Life 1, works in Steam in CrossOver 4.x, whohoo! 😀 It requires you have IE installed, but it works.
