Orange Box Games (SP)

Hi, I'm trying to play the verious single player games in the Orange box through Crossover, it installed fine, and the games open, but in all of them except TF2 the screens 3 thirds black, and in the corner I can see the game playing, but only a bit of the screen. Its like the screen you see when your playing has droped and moved to the left, leaving you with a bit of a view, and a lot of black. Is there any solution?

EDIT: Ok, I got HL2 to open in full screen, but how long should it to Load, I've watched it for about 8 minutes and it never seems to leave the Blured out Loading... stage.

All the new Steam engine games (ep2, tf2, portal) initialize full screen in a strange new way. You will have to force the games to run in a Window by adding "-window" to the launch properties of each game.

This bug does not happen on older Source engine games (HL2 for example).

We are working on this issue.

The problem only occurs with full-screen at a resolution other than your normal desktop resolution. So, once you launch it with "-window", you can set the video settings for full-screen at your normal desktop resolution. Then exit the game, remove "-window" from the launch options, and relaunch it. It should go full-screen without the game being shifted.

With respect to HL2 failing to load, I'm going to take a guess: you're using a Mac with an Nvidia graphics chipset. If that's the case, there's a known problem that causes the game to hang. Here's the fix: add "-console" to your launch options to disable the rendering of a "live" background behind the game menu; launch the game; in the advanced video settings, set "Shader detail" to low. This fixes the problem. After you do that, you may remove "-console" from the launch options if you don't want it.
