Great job with getting HL2 to work, but I have a problem with TF2 -
I cant see the chat in online games, I see only lots of lines "|" instead of letters - except for "d", which shows as normal... weird?!
I run a MBP 15", cheapest of the old models... everything else runs fine!
This is a known problem which we are working on. Unfortunately, we don't have any fix to offer at this time.
Oh allright... thats better than it just being one of those mysterybugs that only affects me and seemingly nobody else :)
Might I suggest mentioning it on the "Known Issues" page :)
By the way, could it have something to do with the fact that I havent installed that "quartz" thing when I installed CrossOver ? I didnt have the CDs at hand, now I do, any way to "provoce" the enquiry about the OS X Install disc again ? Havent been able to install it after Ive first said no when installing..
The font issue is not affected by the absence of quartz-wm. Quartz-wm affects the appearance and behavior of windows. Without it, windows do not look like normal Mac windows, they don't interleave with the windows of other applications, and they can't minimize to the Dock.
There's a setting in CrossOver's preferences which controls whether it will ask for the install discs on startup. On the System Integration tab of the preferences dialog, it's the checkbox "Ask for Mac OS X Install Disc at startup if CrossOver needs quartz-wm". Enable that and restart CrossOver.
