Ok, this isnt for half life 2, but a mod (http://www.hidden-source.com)

basically, its kinda annoying, when the game thinks i have DirectX 8.1, but actually i can have nine.
And i wouldnt be to bothered, except, the game is EXTREMELY hard to play, without being able to see the hiden with DirectX 9
Just wondering i there is anyway i could get it to recognize DirectX9
how are you running it, because all of the downloads are in .exe form. which means that you are running some sort of windows on your mac already, in which case you may not need crossover.
I just installed it with crossover, it runs through steam, just like half life 2 : /
In CrossOver 6.2, the DirectX 9 support is not complete. When 7.0 comes out, it should have much better DirectX 9 support.
