Hi all.. I've been on linux for a few weeks now, and I finally got around to getting codeweavers and installing Steam and HL2 & DOD:S

They finished downloading and all that, and everything works when I run it, but the framerate is disgusting... Solid 10! I get a solid 75 on windows.

I notice that on the advanced video options, everything is set to low, and it says I am running DirectX 6... On windows I am using DX10 and everything is set to HIGH by default...

If anyone could help, that'd be awesome.

Also:

1) I am using CrossOver Linux Pro 6
2) When I run DOD:S it crashes if I go into the advanced video options

Short story is that ATI's Linux drivers are crap. They are coded in such a way that conflicts with how CrossOver and Wine use memory. This causes all sorts of problems for us. nVidea drivers do not have this issue. In fact we have been unable to get our X1300 card here to function at all. The X800 might be better, I am not really sure.
