Hi,

I was always plagued by 5 minutes of white screen when loading HL2 (CXG, fully patched C2D iMac 24"). Start the game via Steam, hear the Valve intro, then 5 mins of white until the actual "Loading…" message appeared. Didn't matter whether I tried to start the game windowed or fullscreen.

HL2:Ep1 doesn't have the problem, so I've checked the launch properties in Steam, and found found the loading option "-novid". I've applied it to the original HL2 game, and now the "white period" is reduced to 30 seconds or so.

I thought this might be interesting to the CXG devs. Maybe it's a known fact, maybe not, but I didn't see it anywhere around here, so I thought I'd just let you know.

That's odd. CrossOver Games should set up HL2 to have the -novid option by default.
