Guildwars in Snow Leopard FYI

Incase anyone is running snow leopard and needs to get into GW (like I do tonight) I found that even though crossover games isn't currently running in Snow Leopard you can run it in the new Crossover 8 if you copy your Guild Wars bottle into home>lib>applicationsupport>crossover>bottles and run the gw.exe the game runs fine. Have not tested this for more than 10 mins though. Just an FYI!

Can confirm it. Runs like a charm in CrossOver 8.0. It is also possible to install it via unsupported software.
I'm a happy camper now. Running Snow 10A421a.

I can also confirm that the game functions properly using this method, both in the 32-bit and 64-bit Snow Leopard kernels. Performance seems identical in either kernel (which makes sense), but I did notice a couple graphics hiccups in 64-bit.

Having upgraded to 8 I've found Guild Wars is much darker than it was under 7.x
And it doesn't seem to like running full screen either, so altering the full screen gamma doesn't help.

Has anyone else experienced this?

yea i cant figure it out, i tried what u said but mine still doesnt work

connie, it's not clear what you're referring to. This thread is quite old and refers to older versions of CrossOver Games. Guild Wars should be running just fine in recent releases of CrossOver Games on any recent version of Mac OS X.

(If you're running it under Steam, there may be an issue with the Steam in-game community overlay. If that's your situation, let us know and we can point you to the details.)

This is actually the only game that performs better in Crossover than under Windows for me.
Download speeds under OS-X are 1MB/s while they're only 50KB/s under Windows...
Framerate is 50fps highest settings under OS-X and 40fps under Windows although it sometimes gets kind of slow under CXgames.
