Guild Wars on Ubuntu 8.10

On my workstation, I am using Ubuntu 8.10 and running the 7.1.2 build of Crossover Games and Guild Wars runs fine (it has an ATIX600). On my tablet PC, with the same build of ubuntu and Crossover Games, Guild Wars runs at 1 fps and is a graphical mess. My Tablet pc is an x3100 (or i965) intel video chip. I know this isnt great.

Anything I should know?

This sounds as if you have no graphics driver with 3D acceleration on your tablet PC.

I think you are right.

Now - how the heck do i install one? LOL. I ask becasue i have been trying to find that information online forever and i have had no luck.

The best thing to do is probably to grab a native Linux 3D application like bzflag, tuxracer, quake 3 etc, and try to get it running. The Ubuntu support can help you better with this issue.

That said, I don't know the state of the drivers for your card. The intel graphics drivers are in a pretty bad shape, but there is heavy development going on. Unfortunately, all that good work didn't make it into mainline Xorg yet, and it will probably take one or two more Xorg releases before the mainline drivers are sane.
