Can't change camera angle

I can't change the in-game camera angle (you know, holding the right mouse button down and dragging). I tried every setting in the options window, I tried using another mouse, I checked to make sure my computer didn't just weird out, but nothing helped.

This has worked for me in the previous BWE's and stress tests, and I know for sure I haven't changed anything in my computer since then, so I guess something has changed in the client? Anyone else having the same issue?

Could you take a screenshot of your game? And is it running smoothly? Because I am having the same problem as you!

Yes started the Beta here , the camera doesnt work with the mouse via crossover luckily the keyboard keys still work. From what they have said this version of the client is the final one for the initial release.

Would that mean money ($90 for me) down the drain? Or would it take time so it can be perfected like Guild Wars 1? I am quite disappointed at this outcome :\

I'm having the same issue - What are the keyboard shortcuts? I couldn't find them in prefs. :/

Yes unfortunately there seems to be an issue with camera rotation but remember that this is beta and you're running it through an unsupported operating system.

Before release there will be a lot more builds released, one of them may fix the camera rotation for us, otherwise I am sure that someone knowledgeable with wine or crossover will figure out a way to fix it. Just play as best you can for now! :D

by keyboard keys i meant the arrow keys and W A S D Q and E (to rotate the camera) and the scrollwheel to zoom in and out (that works)

Keep Cool!

This issue coming right up with this event. And the Crossover-Team can't fix bugs they don't know how to handle. In the Winedatabase Guild Wars 2 entry there is a Fix.

But this is for Wine-Version 1.5.9 and not for Crossover. I don't know how to compile Wine in Crossover and use this. But i hope this help for a some hotfix? The Crosstie-Thing?

My Version of Wine 1.5.9 has just one problem with the patch i post above. This lines did not adjusted perfectly i put my hands on an copy them manually at there Place. Compilation works fine, and Mouse wrap is back there! :)

I'm having the same issue, I'm new on linux, how do I install that bugfix?
I'm on version: wine-1.5.9-106-g020a68e

I am having the same issue. I can't play GW2 in Parallel because of the memory requirements. If the code weavers guys come out with a fix, I'd love to do it.

Unfortunately applying that patch to CrossOver is not as trivial as it may seem. For one, CrossOver 11.2 is based on the stable version of Wine (1.4.1) but the patches for raw input are based on 1.5.x versions, there are quite a few compatibility issues.

We will investigate this issue further but at this time there is no ETA for a solution.

So there is no solution/workaround for the camera angle problem? This makes it very awkward to play!

I'm using an iMac 2008, Mountain Lion, 4Gigs RAM, 256 VRAM

I've pretty much got everyting else playable except for bug 9570, the texture stretching bug (and I'm hoping it's the same as the light source bug), frame rates are much better playing in a window with everything at lowest setting. Thanks for all you guys have done!

Download our special guild wars 2 builds as described in the 'read me first' stick post at the top of the guild wars 2 forum. We have a build which solves the camera movement problem. Get that, and if you still can't move the camera, let us know!

Which one do I need for an ATI iMac? The modifiedri.bin or the plainri.bin?

The .zip installer.

Okay... Thanks! But what are the other two for? And I thought I "had" used the crossover-11.2.0 before anyway but I'll try this one too.

Sorry, one more question, should I just start over again from scratch? Delete my installation as it is now but keep the dat file? Or should I make a new bottle?

I am on a mac too and tried the zip and am still having the rmb issue. I think i already had the 11.2.0 before unless there was a small change or something made to the zip you suggested. I appreciate any help

What specifically do you mean by 'the rmb issue'?

The unsupported builds are works in progress, and unfortunately the 'crossover-11.2.0.zip' referenced in the 'READ ME FIRST' forum post at the top of the Guild Wars forum is named the same thing as a regular zip file downloader for CrossOver 11.2 would be. Despite the name being identical, the files are different.

You must download from here:

http://www.codeweavers.com/xfer/GW2Test/

(enter 'guildwars' when prompted).

From that link, download 'crossover-11.2.0.zip'

Be sure CrossOver is not running on your Mac.

Then double click on that. Be certain you do not have any other 'crossover-11.2.0.zip' in your downloads folder, so that you click on that version of the zip file, and not a leftover .zip downloaded from the homepage on our website.

When you double-click the zip, it will self-extract and leave you with a 'CrossOver' icon. Double-click that to run it.

CrossOver will ask whether it should move itself to the /Applications folder. Be sure to say 'yes.'

Run Guild Wars with that version of CrossOver and the camera should work.

Thanks for the reply, I was having trouble changing the angle with the rmb. It works now though after getting rid of the old crossover i had installed then reinstalling the one you said to try. Sorry to change the topic but now it seems like the game has a blue tinge to it, and if i zoom in im able to see the real colors like the grass and dirt instead of just blue. is this a common bug?

YAY! It works! Thank you SO MUCH Josh! It's working fine for me now, except for very low frame rates, 4 at the moment. I will see if that improves, as it did with using the other Crossover version. For now though, this is great!

Whoops! I guess I shouldn't have installed that last Crossover update because it put me right back to where I was with no camera control! I'm downloading and installing the test one again right now.
