Installer crashes

I am trying to install Guild Wars 2, and when following all the instructions I found on the forums, I can not get the installer to work. If I go to "install software" and use the GW2setup.exe, it downloads 100,000kb then just closes without installing the gw2.exe or anything. If I try to install via the gw2.exe, crossover will not even proceed to installation, it just wants me to pick a different install file. Im not even sure where to start on this one. I am uses the unsupported builds and they work fine on my macbook, but on my friends macbook pro, I can't even get to the installer.

I can get it to start downloading (maybe?)

It will go to this screen, download to 10141kb, then crash and restart. I let this happen 30+ times and still do not have a gw2.exe file. I downloaded one from the could website ([link=http://cloudfront.guildwars2.com/client/Gw2.exe ][/link], but when I use that in the run command it just sits at the same screen at 0kb. I have tried using -image and -dx9single, neither of which work. Is there another command I can try adding? or another way of installing it?

Edit: I found out the Gw2setup.exe is placing a folder in Documents named Guild Wars 2 with the local.dat file in it. Is this the problem? and how would I rectify it?

I have exactly the same issue, any fix would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I managed to get mine working. I downloaded GW2.exe and added the registry values as detailed in the sticky. It is downloading now as advertised.

Well the new build already has all the regkeys except VideoMemorySize, so I added that and now the gw2.exe brings up a white screen and the error:

Happened to notice at the end vidmem = 64 MB, while the system profiler says VRAM (total) = 384 MB. Could this be the problem? and if it is how could I correct it? I added the VideoMemorySize regkey so I have no more ideas.

forgot one little line in that last post where it says something about shader model 3.0 not being there. Does anyone know if the intel HD 3000 graphics card supports shader model 3.0? and if it does how can I get crossover to tell GW2 that it is using shader model 3.0?

The Intel HD Graphics 3000 supports shader model 4.1 according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Intel_graphics_processing_units
