We will be conducting a stress test tomorrow Wednesday, August 15 from 12:00 Noon PACIFIC Time to 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time.

Ok, I got past the login, got in the char creation screen. It crashes (music still plays in the background) as soon as I try to get to the next step after race selection. Anyone else ?

iMac 27", Radeon 1G, mid 2011

Edit : found this in the known bugs thread with a req for screenshots and logs from the devs. Note that it happens both in window mode and full screen

You're talking about known bugs for wine / crossover? It wasn't known (to me, at least) that it would crash that early. It used to crash at step 9/10, not 2/10. Unless the game has changed such that there's text input at step 2 (anyone know this from the windows version?), then this appears to be new.

Ah! I thought it was only me. I am pretty use that it used to work during BWE 1 and 2. Is this a Wine regression?

Is there a workaround for character creation?

Clarification: my game crashes at step 9, never at step 2.

I know no workaround, ... but - I only get a crash after step '9', which is what happened at the last test.

Are others reliably getting crashes after step 2?

No here it crash at 9 of 10. And i checked all Racial. That Point here that is described is the sex selection, isn't it?

But i used the testing modifiedri build and enabled GLSL.

I'm getting a windows box type error in some scenarios at step 2
I'm getting a freeze at step 9 (but I forgot how I made each scenario happen - tried various things including virtual desktop).
Running it normally makes it crash at step 2. Note that if I click the "next" button very very quickly, I can reach step 9 The Windows error box appears to allow the application to run until pressing OK

I created the char in Bootcamp and tried again. Here's a screenshot with the (same) error. And a copy-paste of the log it made

And late edit. It was due to video memory size thing. I forgot to read tips & tricks ;P

New issue: Bug number 9570 (from Known Bugs

I'm using the latest tie with the "SafeVsConsts"="enable" registry entry but the issue is still there. Screenshot attached.

Having trouble, created a character last stress test and now when I get to the character selection screen it's just crashing out straight away. Is this happening to any one else?

Hi,
Here a quote from User Codezi in the Wine-Forum

It seems, that running gw2 with -dx9single commandline switch works currently as a workaround. With dx9single both character creation and chat works correctly without freezing.

Next time i'll testing this.

This is actually an issue on Arenanet's side. On the beta forums, users have had the same problem. I did as well under Windows. During today's test, they sent out a small build that should have addressed the issue.
