I set my value at the correct number, but still the game crashes immediately after I press play. - Well first white screen, then crash.

This is exactly the problem I'm having. Seems there are a few threads on this.

It would be great to get a codeweaver admin response to this one i.e. whether its an Anet update thing or whether it's something crossover needs to provide a fix for (granted enough people have the problem).

Okay...

First question, which value at the correct number did you set? Are you referring to the Video Memory Size or to something else?

Next, Mac or Linux? What version? What graphics card do you have?

It seems like Guild Wars 2 is not getting a valid number for your Video Memory Size which may or may not be causing a crash.

Greetings Caron,

Thank you for your timely response.

My Mac has a VRAM of 256 MB, - in the VideoMemorySize string that I added to the added Direct3D key (which wasn't there) - I typed 256 - this didn't work, so I tried "256 MB" this didn't work either.

My problem does seem to be a matter of value - The game seems not able to connect the dots and I'm not sure which dots are needed and where...

Thank you for your time!

Regards,

Por7ier

Also, I recently just told by someone that setting my VideoMemorySize to 128 (lower than my actual vram total) may help.

It has to be a real number IE 128 - 256 ...1024, and setting the number lower than my actual VRAM total does the trick for the program to run.

UNFORTUNATELY...the beta is over and I will have to wait another month to put this to the test! Lol!

Looking forward to more testing.

I read the ticket you submitted Por7ier but was a little confused about this bit:

"As I understand it, The VRAM setting as reported by Crossover must be a "real" value (128, 256, 512, etc) equal to or lesser than your actual available VRAM.

The problem is, when I put a value into "VideoMemorySize" Crossover reports it out as a higher number. I ended up setting it to 489 or something so it would report out at 512 but it seems Jack is suggesting to set VideoMemorySize to 128 or 256 etc. and as long as it reports out lower than your actual VRAM size it should work (in my case 512)?

Last beta I was on the Crossover trial so when GW2 comes out I'll need to buy it - but if its not going to work I'd rather not shell out the cash. Ahh, gotta love these rocks resting up against hard places.
