Does anyone else find that after the latest patch gw2 now crashes immediately after being launched? I was able to reach the login screen before this patch. I'm using ubuntu 12.04. I've tried using -image but it still crashes.

yes it crashes for me as well ubuntu 12.04, crossover linux 11.0.3

I'm on a mac and I have witnessed the same behavior. I played dumb and kept restarting the run command and eventually it work itself out.

I suspect I was downloading while they were adding patches and maybe that could be the explanation. I waited awhile and the problem seemed to work itself out.

got the same problem on mac OsX 10.5.8 with CX 11.3.

login windows appears but then a crash windows popsup.
When i left the crash msg active the music started to play.

So i dont know what is going on.

This is not happening to us in-house. The best thing you can do is open a Support Ticket so that we can gather further information.

I'm suggesting that you guys who had this issue let Codeweavers know if you did actually get to play in the beta. There were quite a few updates from Anet that caused instant crashes on the launcher before the beta but this was an issue that effected a whole lot of people (myself included) regardless of OS. It was fixed in subsequent releases and you should have been able to play?

I've sent them several tickets on GW2 beta 2 and have the cxlogs for some of the graphics issues, but waiting to hear where to send the debugger files (they were big (largest was almost 2GB). Also, I messed up and should have generated another ticket but didn't realize that the Lion Trading Window was also a bugged. I thought it was not completed so assume the blank window was normal. I could have generated a cxlog for that but didn't. I'm hoping the next beta weekend comes soon so I can debug dump that issue.

for me the dreaded c00005 error kept commoing, on any version of GW2 beta. gone try a fresh new botlle to see if i get again.
The wierd part is the latest GW2 beta of the stress test version worked fine. couldn't play cause the stress test was over.
But atleast the login window came up.

I haven't seen that error (only have the restart issue). My setup of the bottle (if that helps) is the following (besides Gw2 itself):
1) bottle itself is winxp
2) Downloaded DirectX into that bottle folder
3) I've regedit the following variables under HKEY_CURRENT_USERDirect3d/Software/Wine
a) Added the Direct3D subfolder under Wine as a key
b) Within Direct3D added the following "string" variables
1) SafeVsConsts set to "enable"
2) VideoMemorySize set to 512 (I have an 8800GT card on my mac)

For the next beta weekend I plan to regenerate a new bottle for that test doing the above things I've done before just to make sure it is all clean.

Made the bottle as you instructed.
Updated Crossover to latest upgrade. Version 11.2 (11.2.0.26218)
The same bottle works on my osx 10.6.8 rig with NV9800GTX+ 512Mb.
but crashes on my osx 10.5.8 rig with NV8800GT 512Mb

symtoms are compleet black screen when 3d is used. later when i get the login screen to start it crashes with the arena crash reporter.
After a while the music of the login screen starts to play, when i dont click the crash reporter away.

little update.

Also got osx 10.5.8 and 10.7.1 running on the rig with NV9800GTX+ 512MB
Under 10.7.1 Crossover crashes after trying to start any 3d game
and under 10.5.8 it has the same behavior as my rig with the NV8800GT 512MB

I've managed to get into the game but it has this awful greyish tint.

I also get instant crash after click 'play'. I did all the tips but no hope.

How did you manage it dude?

I'm running Fedora 17 64bit

I just made sure i had all my libraries installed via

/opt/cxoffice/bin/cxdiag

and the needed dependencies http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOn64bit#head-d7a2898294afcdf7ec45c2a1f0484f1547540cdd
