Help Me!!!!

I have tried 4 times and i keep failing. i follow the steps, but i think i might be doing something wrong. everything finishes, then i get a message saying "The '/Users/thoamssullivan/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/Guild Wars 2-4/dosdevices/c:/users/crossover/Temp/tmpk8E61m' installation source of Guild Wars 2 is neither a file nor a directory!
Continuing with the install may produce unpredictable results."

I'm just so lost. Can someone guide me in the right direction?

  • Thomas

Ok, I assume you haven't managed to successfully start the installation?
My first steps would be to quit crossover then reopen it.
Open the bottle manager and delete any Guild Wars 2 bottles you have made (from the file location you just gave it seems as if you have created multiple?).
Start the installation fresh:
Create a folder on your desktop called "Guild Wars 2" or "Guild Wars 2 Beta".
Redownload the installation file from the guildwars2 official website and put it inside this.
Open CrossOver and select "Install Software".
Under the supported applications list find "Guild Wars" and select it.
In the next section click "Choose installer file" and navigate to your GW2 installer inside the folder on your desktop
Under bottles select "New Winxp bottle" and name it "Guild Wars 2"
Then hit Proceed and let me know where that gets you :)

omg ty so much. i was so lost and now because of u i got it! ty ty ty ty!!!

i lied. i though since it started downloading it worked. but i keep getting this..

But it did start to install?
When you followed the steps and the Guild Wars 2 installer/loader screen comes up, did it start to load the red bar? If so then it is working as expected.
Every 10,000 files or so (unfortunately you can no longer see how many files it has done/how many are left) the installer will crash, to get around this open up CrossOver, Select "Programs" then "Run Command". I dialog box will pop up and you then select your Guild Wars 2 bottle and then click Browse and select your GW2.exe file and click "Save to Commands Menu". It should then open up the launcher and continue to download and then crash again after 10,000 files.
When it crashes just close the windows and then click "Programs" and select the new command you created.

I'm unsure if you have tried the above (Which is listed in the Tips & Tricks section) but it's a good place to start.

Unfortunately I'm no developer or anything so if the above does not work there is little else I can suggest.
If you do own a windows computer you could try installing it on that and then just copying the files over and running them in Crossover (Although you will have to have a flash drive larger than 16GB in NFTS format to do this).

Let me know how you go :) Hopefully it works for you in time for the next Beta Weekend.

ty so much for you help. i know i will get it eventually based on what you have said! hopefully crossover will support Guild wars 2 like they support guild wars 1
