GSAK problems

I figure I would start the forum thread off with some things I've discovered to be issues, to let others know what works and what doesn't.

I am running a Fedora Core 5 Linux base. I've tried to keep it updated.

1) GSAK 6.6.0 does function under wine 0.9.15. I will try to post some screen shots of that.
It has these issues:
a) it doesn't run the batch files it creates for GPSBabel. I am unsure why.
I have tested the created batch file and it does appear to function correctly, interacting with my serial port and talking to my GPS unit.

 b) It does require the mozilla ActiveX download, not really an issue, but if you install it and this box pops up, then allow it to download. Others have had trouble past this point, but it does seem to work for me.

2) Later version of wine (this includes CrossOver) do not seem to allow things to work properly. GSAK will freeze with the initial dialog displays. This is the first thing I would like to try to fix for GSAK. I figure if it works for the latest version of Crossover/Wine, then that is a better position to take care of the rest of it.
