All the functions of the Gsak program that I have tried work good, but it is a large program rich on options. The most important option still eludes me. I can't get the program to download to my GPS. I this it is a gps driver problem.

I have downloaded and installed the latest version of GSAK 7++ and I am running it using Ubuntu 9.10. Seems to work fine. No problems so far. i am still having trouble with gps drivers however.
same probleme with mac os with a gps map60csx, can't arrive to install the usb drivers , so impossible to dowlowd information from the mac to the gps....
Same problem here as the others, but not just with the 60CSx; same problem on my Legend HCx, which is similar to the 60CSx's functions just without a magnetic compass and barometric altimeter.
I downloaded the USB drivers, but Crossover doesn't seem to install it (them). Same problem with Garmin's X-Image (to load Geocaching.com's style of icons into the GPS); When launched, it just displays a "splash screen" (of sorts) for less than a second, then 'goes away' with nothing afterwards, no matter how long I wait..
I purchased a newer GPS, a Garmin 62. It appears in Linux as an ordinary disk drive. So.... you can now export your caches to a GPX file and have them land in any folder, then simply copy them to the GPS, drag and drop. With a little practice, you can get them to appear as geocaches in the GPS. No need for drivers of any kind.
I recently purchased a Garmin 64s. This recent model gps also appears as a regular disk drive when plugged into Linux. Exporting caches and other waypoints to this unit is super easy.
For geocaches: Using GSAK, export your caches to a standard .GPX file. Then drag and drop the file into the GPX folder in the unit. Thats it. The unit will hold millions of geocaches so no need to worry about space. It is always wise to update your information so that you are not seeking for caches that have recently been archived.
