Ground Control II: Operation Exodus Forum

Installs without problems.

Needs Core Fonts installed for game to run.

Installed Direct X, Core Fonts and Visual C++ 2005.
Tested in virtual desktop.
Game runs very good, no apparent performance issues.

It seems this game suffers from an absolutely INFURIATING problem where the mouse pointer for some reason is "locked" to it's own little "cage".
I don't know how else to describe it.
In practice this means that you can't move the mouse pointer freely around the screen but only within a small invisible limited area that doesn't fill the window, but rather just half the screen.
-the problem persists both in fullscreen and in a virtual desktop.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

EDIT:

I have found a way to mitigate the problem quite satisfactory.

You have to edit the registry of the bottle you have installed GC2 in.
Create a new registry key named Direct Input under HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Wine.
In the new Direct Input key, create a new string called MouseWarpOverride, double click the string you just created and type force_edge in the "Value Data" field.

You have to play the game in fullscreen for this to work satisfactory, otherwise your efforts will be for nought.
